Press Release: New independent publisher SECOND SIGHT PUBLISHING continues their impressive talent search by signing FIGHT OF THE CENTURY, an indie biopunk comic created by writers Troy-Jeffrey Allen and Nick Allen with art by Julius Abrera.

“Fight of the Century was a great acquisition for us, I grew up on movies such as Bloodsport, Lionheart, and Rocky. This title that Troy and Nick have created harkens back to those movies and the good old days of arena action,” Second Sight Publishing CEO Bradley Golden states.

Called “FOTC” for short, FIGHT OF THE CENTURY is a story about the sport of MMA (mixed martial arts) decades from now. In a futuristic Brazil, performance-enhancing drugs have gone from behind-the-scenes banned substances to front-and-center game-changers. The sports world as we know it has been revolutionized! Nowhere is that more on display than inside Neo-Rio, a mega-city that serves as the home to the Fighters Ultimate Exhibition League (FUEL). Men are becoming monsters in minutes as fighters are putting their lives on the line in the octagon.

The story follows two opposing fighters: Rex Punga, a down on his luck farmboy-turned-MMA fighter, and D.O.A., a legacy fighter with a family history he’s desperate to live up to. After a drug-fueled incident that nearly ends both their careers, Punga and Andrade will both attempt two separate comebacks that will once again entangle both men — in emotional, hyper-violent, and action-packed ways. At the center of this rivalry is BrawnPharm, an evil pharmaceutical corporation that has drugged all of Brazil into compliance and will do anything to protect their nefarious bottom line!

FIGHT OF THE CENTURY is written by Troy-Jeffery Allen (MF DOOM: All Caps, Public Enemy’s Apocalypse ’91: Revolution Never Sleeps), the marketing manager and producer for PREVIEWSworld. co-creator and co-writer Nick Allen has written for the successful Black anthology book NOIR, as well as his superhero comedy C-Listers. Artist Julius Abrera has worked on a slew of Zenescope titles such as Van Helsing: Sword of Heaven and Robyn Hood: The Curse. Abrera was also the artist behind Hasbro’s G.I. Joe vs. Cobra comic. Rounding out the creative team is inker Thiago Gomes DaCosta and colorist Bryan Magnaye.

FIGHT OF THE CENTURY will be available to pre-order using PREVIEWS Pullbox. Keep an eye out for it in the coming months.
